STARTING HAND

7 cards each. First to place every card wins — and you must knock before you go out, or it doesn't count.

Everybody plays their own way. Time to unite as one.

You've probably played a version of this before — different tables, different house rules, different meanings for the same cards. Crazy Blackjaxk draws the line: one official rulebook, so however you learned it, you and your opponent are reading from the same deck the second the cards are dealt.

Build the chain, take the game

Cards don't have to go down one at a time. Lay down two, three, even four together if they share a number, or chain them across suits — any length works, as long as every card links to the one before it. And there's more than one way to win: some hands you'll plan the whole chain out in advance, other times you'll just drop a card and hope it holds — you never know. Loads of strategies work here.

Same number, any suits
5♥5♥
5♠5♠
Two, three, or all four you're holding — if the number matches, they drop together, whatever suits they're in.

8♠8♠
Just one shape a chain can take — number, then pivot on suit, then number again. Build it as long as the links hold.

REVERSE ×2
Two 8s together skip two players. Two Black Jacks together pick up ten. A Red Jack right after a Black Jack cancels the pickup dead. Two 10s flip the direction twice, so play carries on to whoever's next. But mix different cards in one chain, and only the card left on top decides what hits the next player.

Seven cards change everything

Standard shedding rules apply — put a card down, or pick up and wait for your next turn — until one of these hits the table.

8
Skip
Next player misses their go entirely.
10
Reverse
Flips play the other way — turn passes to whoever's now next in that direction.
2
Pickup 2
Stacks with other 2s. Can't stack? Draw the lot.
J♠
Black Jack
Pickup 5, stacks with itself. Brutal late-game.
J♥
Red Jack
Cancels a Black Jack pickup stone dead.
A
Wild Ace
Call any suit. Can't be your winning card.

Two things to lock in: don't forget to knock the turn before your last card falls — no knock, no win, even with an empty hand. And when a chain mixes different cards, it's whatever's left on top that matters — that's the one that actually hits the next player.

Dust doesn't lie about who's winning

Every match pays out in Dust, win or lose — flex it on a table, back yourself in a tournament, or save it for the shop. Only the winner takes the tournament prize, but everyone gets a shot at entry.
